Sunkgyu Kim (assistant professor of nanotechnology and advanced materials engineering, Sejong University) and Kai He (assistant professor of materials science and engineering, Clemson University) recently published in the journal Advanced Materials.
The title of the paper is “Lithium-Ion Batteries: Atomic-Scale Observation of Electrochemically Reversible Phase Transformations in SnSe2 Single Crystals.”
The research could help lead to batteries that charge faster, hold their charge longer and have longer lifetimes. Batteries could also be made safer.
Co-authors are Zhenpeng Yao, Jin‐Myoung Lim, Mark C. Hersam, Chris Wolverton and Vinayak P. Dravid.
